Gale McCall was commissioned to create functional artworks as part of the renovation of the iconic concert venue.  Madison Square Garden Company, the new owners of the Forum commissioned her works as part of an overall art plan in compliance with the private percent for art requirement established by the City of Inglewood.  

McCall decided to design benches to address community use of the Forum parking lot, as well as concert-goers seating needs. Her organic bench designs were fabricated in cast concrete, with each form containing multiple perforations. When lit for nighttime concert events at the Forum, these perforations contribute a surprising purple haze to the area.
