Dougherty and Dougherty architects designed an Inglewood charter school, La Tijera K-8 Academy of Excellence in 2012. Located on a triangular site in the north of the city, the building is on three levels. The library, designed for community events, welcomes visitors at the ground level. The building incorporates sustainable features such as the thermal cladding and the covered walkways.
The building includes two community artworks created in partnership with classes from the Otis College of Art and Design.
