Walking a Fine Line was a site-specific dance performance in Inglewood's Vincent Park Amphitheater, Veterans Memorial Building, and Rogers Park Community Center during Summer 2016. Led by Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre's teaching artists, two concurrent, six-week, site-specific dance workshops, one for youth and one for seniors, were held in Inglewood Parks. Workshop participants trained to perform an intergenerational performance at Vincent Park Amphitheater alongside the company's dancers.

HDDT's free performance was presented to the Inglewood community on August 20, 2016. In collaboration with Inglewood Growing Artists' Performed Projects, HDDT has been conducting site-specific dance workshops for area youth and senior citizens throughout July.

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre creates innovative dance experiences in non-traditional places and provides learning opportunities in diverse neighborhoods. They invite audience and artists to engage with one another and connect with their community in new, movement-based exchanges. Los Angeles-based, the company has performed widely in southern California, across the United States and recently in Havana Cuba as part of the Old Havana: City in Movement Festival. In 2014 and 2015 they worked with students at Inglewood's Warren Lane Elementary School.

Founded in 1985 by Artistic/Executive Director and choreographer Heidi Duckler, Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre has created memorable dance experiences in unusual locations. Duckler has negotiated and animated non-traditional dance sites including a baseball diamond. empty swimming pool, the concreted Los Angeles River, and Los Angeles City Hall. In 2010, she launched a performance collaboration series partnering with community groups to tell stories of home, origins, and immigration in vacant lots across Los Angeles.
