Todd Schliemann is a Design Partner in Ennead Architects. His designs are recognized internationally for architectural excellence and have received numerous national AIA Honor Awards, New York State and New York City AIA Awards and American Architecture Awards from the Chicago Athenaeum, among others. Driving Schliemann's work is his passionate conviction that while architecture is a personal interpretive art, it is the designer's obligation to deliver an architecture suffused with the broadest meaning of its context. His careful analyses of specific physical, environmental, historical and societal conditions have resulted in designs that expand the vocabulary of contemporary architecture and elevate public awareness of architecture's expressive power.

Among his notable designs are the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History; The Standard, High Line; Natural History Museum of Utah; New York Hall of Science; Yerba Buena Gardens Center for the Arts Theater; Queens Borough Public Library Flushing Regional Branch; University of Michigan Biomedical Science Research Building; Weill Cornell Medical College Medical Research Building and Weill Greenberg Center. He is currently designing the Cockrell School of Engineering Education and Research Center and the new Graduate School of Business both at the University of Texas at Austin; and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and CUNY - Hunter College Science and Health Professions Building.

Mr. Schliemann has served as studio critic, juror, lecturer and ACE Mentor. He has been a Visiting Juror at numerous colleges of architecture, including Columbia University, Cornell University, Harvard University and Syracuse University.

Mr. Schliemann received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 1979 and studied Urban Design at the Architectural Association in London. He is a member of the Architectural Advisory Committee of Cornell University and The Council of the New York Hall of Science. Mr. Schliemann is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

Clifford Pearson, Deputy Editor Architectural Record
Clifford Pearson is a deputy editor of Architectural Record. Since joining the magazine in 1989, he has written on a broad range of topics - from individual projects such as the MAXXI museum in Rome by Zaha Hadid and the Hong Kong International Airport by Foster & Partners to essays on school design and housing. From 1993 to 1997, he edited Record's annual section on architecture in the Pacific Rim and today he is in charge of the magazine's Chinese edition and its annual Design Vanguard issue. He serves as a director of Asia Design Forum, a nonprofit think tank that organizes events and generates dialogue among the design community and the general public. He is the author of Indonesia: Design and Culture, published by the Monacelli Press in 1998, and the editor of Modern American Houses, published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., in 1996 and reissued in 2005. In 2003, he received a Media Fellowship from the U.S.-Japan Foundation and spent two months in Japan examining "Technology and Tradition in Contemporary Japanese Architecture." In 2004 and 2006, he was the co-curator of the U.S. Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Mr. Pearson holds a master's degree in architectural history from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in urban studies from Cornell University.
