Thank you for your interest in supporting cultureNOW.
cultureNOW is dedicated to creating a museum without walls, or an acoustiguide to the world outside through smartphone technology. Our partnerships with over 90 public art collections, universities and cities throughout America have created the largest database of cultural assets in the country which has been used for many things. For tourists, it is one of the richest sources of information about art and architecture in the public realm. For designers and public officials it has also been invaluable in more resilient design.
cultureNOW runs many walking tours. It started the Architectural Boat Tours of New York with MoMA in 2010. It partners with many organizations througout the country. In New York, it runs Janes Walk Tours with the Municipal Art Society, Summer Streets with the NYC Dept of Transportation, with OpenhouseNewYork it runs tours of Harlem and lower Manhattan and with the Lower Manhattan Historical Society Lower Manhattan. A contribution of $1000 will support a walking tour and pays for the docent and the online component.
cultureNOW runs a series of symposia and programs. In 2012 it inaugurated the popular monthly Cocktails & Conversations series at the Center for Architecture.
Exhibitions on mapping including a permanent exhibition at the Boston Society of Architects which was installed in 2012. Over 650,000 physical maps have been created including a Historical Map of Lower Manhattan which will be printed in 2016.
Your donation supports the internship program. For 9 weeks every summer cultureNOW selects a small group of students and invites them to participate in an immersive program in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston. The program has been wildly successful leading to 8 jobs and one book. A contribution of $2500 supports one summer intern; $500 supports one winter break (J-term) intern.
cultureNOW operates with a very small staff and depends on the generosity of its partners and friends who contribute their time and some money to continue its work. Only with YOUR help can cultureNOW continue making great strides in bringing information on our nation’s beloved treasures to you to enjoy.
CultureNOW is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
