Description
The Ames Building, completed in 1893, was Boston's first skyscraper. It is the second tallest load-bearing masonry construction in the world, second only to the Monadnock Building in Chicago. Today it is a luxury hotel; the renovation was designed by Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc., completed in 2009.
