ABOUT THE HISTORICAL PHOTOGRAPHS
Around 1900, a group of major Boston institutions migrated west, out Huntington Avenue. The area around the intersection of Huntington and Massachusetts avenues became the new home of the New England Conservatory of Music in 1902, Jordan Hall in 1904, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society in 1905, the Christian Science Church in 1906, the Museum of Fine Arts in 1912, and the Boston Opera House, pictured at right, in 1909.
