Description
Called the "father of the American cavalry," Pulaski was a Polish nobleman and soldier of fortune, who became a general in George Washington's Continental Army. Pulaski had come to the American Colonies with encouragement from Benjamin Franklin -- he was considered a regicide in his own country and had fled to France. Pulaski was thoroughly dedicated to the cause of "freedom" and saved the life of George Washington at the Battle of Brandywine. He died from a gunshot wound in 1779 and is one of o...
