Description
This sculpture is a larger-than-life memorial to music legend Stevie Ray Vaughan, who achieved great success in the 1980s as a virtuoso blues guitarist. A bronze "shadow" of Vaughan playing guitar serves as a metaphor for his musical legacy. Though not originally from Austin, he served as a musical ambassador for the city, bringing worldwide attention to the local music scene. The sculpture was donated to the City by the Vaughan Family and the Stevie Ray Vaughan Fan Club.
