Description
Behind St. Joseph Old Cathedral the monument "And Jesus Wept" acts as a memorial for the 168 men, women, and children who lost their lives in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing on April 19, 1995. Inspiration for the piece is drawn from John 11 and the shortest verse of the Bible where Jesus is seen weeping over Jerusalem, soon to be destroyed. At this monument, Jesus is depicted holding his face in sorrow over the devastation of the attack and mourning the lives lost.
