Resonating Bodies consists of a pair of bronze sculptures resembling giant musical instruments, one resembling a lute and the other a tuba. The sculpture is based on the idea that all physical bodies--including ourselves--are constantly enveloped by various energy forms from heat, light, sound, and gravity to magnetic waves and x-waves. It reflects these forces with a wave-like relief on its surfaces, and invites touching and interaction.

Pier A is the sole historic pier left in Manhattan. A three-story pier head was added in 1900, an in 1919 a clock was installed in the tower in memorial of the soldiers who died in World War I. The clock was the first WWI memorial in the United States. The pier underwent a major renovation in 2010 and expects a to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
