Inspired by the Harlem Renaissance mural artist, Aaron Douglass, these aluminum relief panels depict Harlem's past and future. The majestic sphinxes flanking the scene are taken from Douglass' work he created in 1926. The skyscrapers, suns, and sphinxes all represent strength as well. This is a MTA Arts for Transit project.
