This 18 foot tall allegorical figure holds a weighing scale as a traditional iconographic emblem. The woman’s gesture to the baby beneath her suggests that justice will protect the infant from harm; embodied in the snake.

The building, which currently houses NYU offices, was originally home to Puck Magazine, named after the character whose motto is, “What fools these mortals be!” from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream.

A blue installation alongside the building at 599 Broadway; taken down in 2002 for causing damage, yet with a push from the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission was re-installed in 2007.

The hexagonal, honeycomb-shaped LED light installation changes patterns and colors in random succession at the new transfer and connection point in the station. The sculptural work explores the brain and its implicit desire to understand and make meaning of forms.

The polished concrete sculpture, doubling as a seating element, mists water and produces soft vibrations based on data pulled from the frenzy of Twitter posts and alerts circulated online. The longer participants stay seated or reclined on the artwork, the more mist and fog will surround them.
