The Macy's Department Store at Herald Square was the World's Largest Store until 2009, when it was surpassed by Shinsegae in Centum City, South Korea. Macy's has produced the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City since 1924, and sponsored the City's annual Fourth of July fireworks display since 1976.

For the past few years, Studio V has been renovating the 1, 000,000 sf Macy's Department Store, considered the largest in the world. One of the high points is the recently completed restaurant. A special express elevator was built to access it.
