Recognized as a pioneer of kinetic art, artist Yaacov Agam stresses movement and change in his artwork. In 'Color and Rhythm' the images shift and vary as one walks around and views the painting from different angles. Like pages in a book, this painting can be "read" as it unfolds. Agam has been exhibited worldwide and received impressive awards including the Medal of Council and Prix de la Palete d'Or. "To conceptualize the intent of my work as reading the pages of a book, I invite viewers to actively participate in the formation of the artwork which evolves with the changes in physical perspective" From the Artist's Statement.

Six diamond-shaped gator board panels organized in two groupings, form two sextagonal arrangements. They are painted with acrylic and textured with acrylic resin. The geometric imageries repeat the diamond shape with slightly different sizes and slightly different alignment. The exact spacing between each panel is very crucial to the compositional coherence. Artist's statement: "Contrasting elements seem to be integrated in my life and art. The known and the unknown confront the thought process in my every-day experiences. The known, and a search for the unknown, confront the thought process in my everyday experiences. We see that which is there, and accept it for what it is. Look again and you can see from a place within yourself, a vision that can reveal the unknown. This perspective gives the artist a tool to observe 'everday' existence, interpreting it into a creative personal expression."

An example of Brutalist style adapted to the subtropical climate, the massive architectural structure is softened with local colitic limestone inlays and exterior terraces. It features a cascading glass curtain wall on its north facade and a central atrium. The building also has four artworks by Yaacov Agam, Dale Eldred and Ivan Chermeyeff.
