Cascade Arch
Chicago-based artist Barry Tinsley uses the palm tree as the inspiration for design elements in this pair of sculptures. Placed outdoor by a pathway along the north bank of the New River, the sculptures welcome visitors to the Riverwalk complex, a popular entertainment destination in Fort Lauderdale.
Accordant Zones
South Florida artist Barbara Neijna and New York artist Ned Smyth collaborated to design this sculptural park situated on the north side of the Judicial Complex. Bordering on the south bank of New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the park encompasses many geometric and monumental sculptural elements made of coral rock and nestled among lush sub-tropical landscapes: a sphere of 16 feet diameter, a disk of 26 feet diameter by 2 feet thickness, an inverted cone of 32 feet in height by 28 feet diameter, five columns of 8 feet in height, two seating walls and several benches which offer a river viewing access.
Note: This artwork was chosen one an example of "The World's Finest Artwork", by Australia's Images Publishing - "Designing the World's Best Public Art".
